The Reform Temple of Forest Hills

Call for Board of Trustees Candidates & Nominations

Reform Temple of Forest Hills has a proud tradition of committed lay leadership, and as we look ahead to the coming year, we are launching something new: an open invitation for members to apply for and/or nominate candidates for our Board of Trustees. Board service is also one of the best ways to deepen your connection to Temple life and help shape our leadership for the future.

The Nominating Committee is seeking candidates who demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Exemplary personal qualities and sound judgment
  • Strong leadership qualities and/or interest in developing leadership skills
  • Commitment to the Temple, its mission, and long-term well-being
  • Ability to build community and actively advocate for a warm, caring, and welcoming congregation
  • Willingness to offer advice and strategic input to inform Board decision-making

The Board of Trustees meets monthly throughout the year and helps guide the life of the Temple. The Board serves as fiduciary steward of the congregation—responsible for the Temple’s long-term health, integrity, and mission—by setting strategic direction, priorities, and policies; representing the thinking of members across the congregation; and approving the annual budget, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring the responsible use of Temple resources. Serving on the Board is a meaningful way to help shape our community and strengthen Jewish life at RTFH.

Board members serve a three-year term. Board members are also expected to be in good standing in their financial obligations to the Temple.

Here’s how you can help:
Please complete our digital nomination/application form below where you can nominate yourself or another member.

Deadline: March 20

Thank you for being part of this important process—and for helping strengthen our community.
