The Reform Temple of Forest Hills

Marcia Parness

RTFH has been my spiritual home for over 25 years, when I joined my husband Rory, daughter, Corinne, and my mother-in-law, Carol, as part of the Temple family. I loved raising Corinne, Maya, and Noah with the spirit of joyful Judaism which permeates our religious school and Temple life. We have celebrated countless milestones at Temple, including my father’s second Bar Mitzvah at age 83!

I truly enjoy working collaboratively with other Temple members on the Board, the Social Action Team, and the Website Redesign Team to make an impact in Temple and beyond. Volunteering here is incredibly fulfilling, especially participating in initiatives which help repair the world, including Midnight Run and Mitzvah Day. With a background in social work, I am also an advisor to Child HELP Partnership at St. John’s University. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family – especially my two grandsons, exploring the city, and helping Rory (a.k.a. Pizza Zayde) raise money for Slice Out Hunger.
