Jill Perlman, Rabbinic Intern

Jill is very excited about serving as the Reform Temple of Forest Hills’ very first Rabbinic Intern. Jill will be continuing her work in the field of Family Education at RTFH, helping to coordinate programs such as Shabbat Central, Mitzvah Day, and the Kutz Family Retreat. She also will be leading tefillah, teaching adult education classes, and reaching out to adults in their 20s and 30s.

Jill hails from the Boston area, where she attended Brandeis University, both as an undergraduate and as a graduate student. She received her B.A. in English and American Literature and completed programs in Education and Women’s Studies. She then went on to pursue a three-year joint-Master’s degree program in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies and Jewish Communal Service with a concentration in Jewish Education. Jill is currently a third year rabbinical student at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, where she has received several academic prizes in Bible, Midrash, and Hebrew. Jill is also the recipient of the Bonnie and Daniel Tisch Fellowship, a prestigious fellowship meant to foster future transformational rabbinical leaders in the Reform movement.

Jill currently resides on the Upper West Side with her new husband, Jeff.
